Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what information WhoWantsTuitions collects, why we collect it, and how students and parents stay in control of it. We follow the spirit of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1.Who we are

WhoWantsTuitions (whowantstuitions.com) is an AI tutoring service for ICSE school students. It is a product of ServiceFine (EKM ServiceFine), a company registered in India. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean WhoWantsTuitions and ServiceFine.

2.What data we collect

• Sign-in details: your name and email address, received when you sign in (for example, with Google).
• Study details: the school board and grade you choose.
• Tutor chats: the questions and messages you send to the AI tutor (Ask Koki) and the answers it gives.
• Progress: lessons marked as done, your 100-Day Plan progress, and worksheet or test results.
• Feedback: any messages you send us through feedback or support.
• Basic technical data: IP address, browser type and similar details recorded in our server logs.
• Payment details: which plan was paid for, the amount, the date and the UPI transaction ID you give us, so we can confirm the payment. We never ask for or store your UPI PIN, OTP or card details.

We do not ask for a student's home address, phone number, school name or photographs, and we ask students not to share them in chats.

3.Why we use it

• To provide tutoring: answering questions and showing lessons, worksheets and tests for the right board and grade.
• To track progress: saving what you have completed so you can continue where you left off.
• To set daily limits: counting questions so the service stays fair and affordable for everyone.
• To improve content: finding topics where students get stuck so we can make lessons clearer.
• For support: replying to your messages and fixing problems.
• For payments: confirming that a plan has been paid for and keeping the records the law requires.

We do not use your data for any other purpose without telling you and, where needed, asking for consent.

4.How AI is used

To answer questions, the text of a student's question is sent to AI providers:

• OpenAI, to generate tutoring answers.
• Google Gemini, to generate some images and diagrams.

We send only what is needed to generate an answer. We set up our requests so that personal details such as names and email addresses are not included, and we ask students not to type personal details into chats.

5.Children and parents

WhoWantsTuitions is meant for school students, most of whom are under 18. For any user under 18, we rely on verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian before processing the child's data. Students should use the service only with a parent or guardian's consent.

Parents and guardians can, at any time:

• ask to see the data we hold about their child;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete their child's data and close the account;
• withdraw consent, after which we will stop processing the child's data.

Write to shiva@whowantstuitions.com from the parent's email address or the account's email address. We may ask a few questions to confirm you are the parent or guardian before acting on the request.

6.Storage and security

• Our website and data are hosted with a hosting provider (GoDaddy) whose servers are in the United States.
• Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.
• Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
• If you sign in with Google, we never receive or store your password.

No online service can be perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data. If a data breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

7.How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active and for up to 12 months after it becomes inactive or is closed. After that, it is deleted. The only exception is payment records, which we keep for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require.

8.Your rights

Students (through a parent or guardian if under 18) and parents have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold and how it is used;
• Correct or update inaccurate data;
• Delete data that is no longer needed;
• Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing already done);
• Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, and if not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

9.Cookies and browser storage

We use a login session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember simple things such as where you were in the site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

10.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are significant, we will let you know on the site or by email.
